Greater Louisville Inc. Wins Top Communications Award
Louisville, Ky. (June 1, 2023) –Greater Louisville Inc. has been named one of 12 Communications Award of Excellence winners by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE). ACCE is an association based in Alexandria, Va., that has over 1,600 chambers of commerce and related business and economic development organizations as members, representing more than 9,000 professionals in the industry.
ACCE’s Awards for Communications Excellence program, generously supported by Meta, is designed to showcase top communications and marketing work of chambers of commerce and similar organizations. ACE Awards are judged by industry peers. This year’s panel was comprised of 14 U.S.-based chamber communications and marketing professionals.
“Chambers of commerce play a critical role in driving success for their communities,” said ACCE President & CEO Sheree Anne Kelly. “Chambers are natural conveners, sharing stories that inspire and spur action. That creativity in communications, paired with catalytic leadership and visionary thinking, is what earned them this well-deserved recognition.”
Greater Louisville Inc. was named an Award of Excellence winner in the websites and apps category for its Workforce Ecosystem Hub, a one-of-a-kind platform that showcases over 270 regional organizations who provide a range of services and workforce resources to aid job seekers and employers. GLI worked with partners throughout the community for over two years to create the site and curate content in an easily navigated format.
“It is an honor to be nationally recognized for our Workforce Ecosystem Hub. Over the past two years, our team has put hundreds of hours into creating a platform that makes it easier than ever for employers and jobseekers to utilize workforce resources, which we hope will create more opportunities for our entire region,” said Sarah Davasher-Wisdom, president and CEO of GLI. “This award showcases the Workforce Ecosystem Hub as a national best practice, and I hope more people in our community will take advantage of this incredible resource.”
The site is organized through several tabs that have specific resources for both jobseekers and employers such as upskilling and reskilling resources for staff, financial resources to help fund training, a place for individuals apply for jobs, identify training opportunities and more. The platform was launched in response to ongoing workforce participation challenges in the region. Since its launch in November 2022, it has had over 2,596 hits.
The 12 winning entries will now go on to compete for the Best in Show title within their total annual revenue category. The three winning entries will be revealed at ACCE’s annual convention in Salt Lake City during the August 1 Awards Show.
“The GLI team continues to go above and beyond to provide critical resources for our business community, and I am thrilled to see their hard work recognized by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives,” said Russ Cox, president and CEO of Norton Healthcare and Chair of the GLI Board of Directors. “Through innovative communications initiatives like the Workforce Ecosystem Hub, GLI is helping to solve one of the regional business community’s most pressing problems – retaining and developing talent.”
A panel of communications and marketing professionals from ten U.S.-based chambers of commerce evaluated entries submitted for this year’s competition. Entries were organized by category — based on the chamber’s annual revenue — and entry type: campaigns, print and electronic publications, videos, and websites and apps.
