National Association Hosts Chamber DE&I Leaders in Louisville
Louisville, Ky. (October 9, 2024) – Last week, a group of 12 Chamber of Commerce diversity, equity, and inclusion leaders traveled to Greater Louisville for the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives annual DE&I Practitioners conference. Greater Louisville Inc.’s economic inclusion team hosted attendees during the two-day conference that highlighted Louisville’s progress and resources in advancing economic inclusion.
Attendees heard from top local business and community leaders including Nikki Lanier, CEO of Harper Slade, and leaders from AMPED, the Louisville Urban League, and the Louisville Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. As part of the program, GLI’s economic inclusion team planned a half-day tour of West Louisville which included stops at the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center, Goodwill Opportunity Campus, and the future home of the Norton West Louisville Hospital which will open late this fall.
“Bringing together chamber inclusion leaders is always a meaningful and worthwhile experience. It was even more special being able to host this conference in Greater Louisville and showcase the incredible leaders, programs, and initiatives we have that are moving the needle on economic inclusion,” said Dana Johnson, GLI’s vice president of economic inclusion.
This year’s conference included representatives from 10 Chambers of Commerce from across the U.S.
“We are grateful to Greater Louisville Inc. and its community partners for hosting an informative and engaging program,” ACCE President & CEO Sheree Anne Kelly said. “Chambers of commerce are the catalysts for change in areas like economic inclusion and community vibrancy. Programs like this provide a platform for chamber leaders to share best practices, build a support network and generate new ideas.”
