GLI opens applications for 2024 Advanced Manufacturing & Logistics Network (AML) Fellows Program
Louisville, KY. (December 12, 2023) – Applications are now open for the second cohort of GLI’s Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics Fellows, a professional development program hosted by the Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics Network (AML). The program launched last year to foster sustainable growth in the manufacturing and logistics sectors within the Greater Louisville region. AML was created by GLI to create a strong industry ecosystem that is conducive to accelerated economic growth.
“The AML Fellows program provides a platform for promising manufacturing and logistics professionals to connect with industry peers, gain insights into innovation and thought leadership beyond their daily routines, enhance their leadership capabilities, and elevate their business skills,” said Sarah Davasher-Wisdom, CEO and president of GLI. “I am thrilled to welcome another class this winter and see this program continue to grow.”
AML Fellows will run for 10 months, from February through November 2024, and is designed for rising professionals in the field. Each month, participants will take part in half-day sessions where they will hear from industry experts and thought leaders on a range of timely topics including sourcing and developing workforce, automation, innovation, and the exploration of emerging industries such as vehicle battery technology.
The initial cohort of nine fellows graduated in November, after delving into different subsectors of the advanced manufacturing and logistics industry. The program included visits to notable locations such as the UPS Airlines Global Aviation Training Center, Brown-Forman’s Old Forester Distillery, GE Appliances (a Haier Company), and CRG Automation.
“Programs like AML Fellows not only helps shape rising industry leaders, but also builds a strong comradery and collaboration that is critical to sustaining the strong growth we continue to see in both advanced manufacturing and logistics” said Dean Schlader, GLI’s vice president of business outreach and investor development. “I’m excited to work with our next class as they expand their expertise “
