“GLI’s FAM Tour is a unique opportunity to bring site selectors to our region and show them all the assets and opportunities we have to offer. These experiences keep Greater Louisville top of mind when their clients are considering expanding or relocating,” said Sarah Davasher-Wisdom, president and CEO of GLI. “FAM Tour is a critical storytelling strategy that GLI and our partners use to increase the number of business attraction and expansion projects in our pipeline.”

GLI serves as the regional economic development organization and manager of the Greater Louisville Partnership which works to bring in projects and leads to the region and narrow down their search for a specific county and site. The Greater Louisville Partnership represents 15 diverse counties and municipalities in Kentucky and Southern Indiana, who invest in the regional model for marketing and leads. GLI proactively markets signature industry clusters like advanced manufacturing and logistics, health care and aging innovation, and technology. In addition, GLI runs the region’s talent attraction campaign, Live in Lou, to bring top talent to fill open positions.

The 2023 FAM Tour culminated with “Looking at Lou”, an event open to the business community to hear directly from the attending site selectors on their feedback of the region’s opportunities and challenges. At the event, site selectors commended Louisville’s collaborative and regional approach to economic development, and stressed how important a strong regional framework is to economic development. They also admired the region’s high-quality of place, including its abundance of parks, recreation, and arts offerings. The experts encouraged the community to work on addressing crime, showcasing its diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, and explaining how environmental and social governance can be incorporated into company expansion or relocation decisions.
