GLI applauds House for passing HB 197
House Bill 197, related to streamlining the process for homeless individuals to obtain identification, passed the House of Representatives unanimously and now heads to the Senate. Greater Louisville Inc. president and CEO, Sarah Davasher-Wisdom, issued the following statement:
“Greater Louisville Inc. applauds the Kentucky House of Representatives for passing House Bill 197 which will simplify the process for homeless individuals to obtain state identification to access critical services. As our region continues to create and execute a compassionate and comprehensive strategy to address the rise in homelessness, this legislation will remove one critical barrier that keeps people from accessing needed services. We thank Representative Bridges for his leadership on this bill and are optimistic it will have a positive result in Greater Louisville.”
