Inc.credible Awards
This annual celebration is GLI’s signature small business event. GLI presents nine Inc.credible Awards for businesses with fewer than 200 employees and has celebrated over 110 small, local businesses since 2000 for their ongoing contribution to our region’s economic vitality.
This year’s celebration will be bigger than ever as we celebrate 20 years of small business recognition. We will look back at all the small businesses that have impacted our region and look ahead at the newest Inc.credible Award winners as we present the 2020 Inc.credible Awards to eight small businesses and one small business leader.
An inspirational event for anyone who knows the importance of small businesses dreaming big, this is a must-attend celebration for companies of all sizes.

AWARD CATEGORIES
Inc.credible Small Business Leader of the Year
This award is presented to a small business leader who stand out as exceptional leaders for their companies and the community. These individuals exhibit a strong commitment to the welfare of their employees, support a positive company culture, and work to implement change and innovation in Greater Louisville.
Small Business of the Year Award (1-50 employees)
The winning company exemplifies both business and civic leadership. Community involvement, management practices and overall financial performance are the primary criteria for this category.
Small Business of the Year Award (51-100 employees)
The winning company exemplifies both business and civic leadership. Community involvement, management practices, and overall financial performance are the primary criteria for this category.
Small Business of the Year Award (101-200 employees)
The winning company exemplifies both business and civic leadership. Community involvement, management practices and overall financial performance are the primary criteria for this category.
Non-Profit of the Year Award
The Non-Profit of the Year award recognizes a small business that is seen as a leader in the Greater Louisville community. Finalists in this category are seen as leaders in the Non-Profit sector. Their mission includes improving lives of individuals and enhancing the well-being of the Greater Louisville community.
Health & Wellness Award
This award recognizes a business that is taking steps to increase overall wellbeing, whether by introducing innovative solutions to the healthcare field or whether by implementing an organization-wide health and wellness program. The company must be committed to improving lifelong wellness for individuals inside and outside of their organization.
Diversity Equity & Inclusion Award
This award recognizes businesses that are committed to inclusive hiring, buying and selling, and recognize the competitive edge their companies have by supporting unique groups of people in their workforce.
Innovation Award
This award recognizes a small business that creates unique and forward-thinking solutions that address needs of internal and/or external clients. Innovative practices range from designing original products and programs, to developing effective new processes & technologies.
People’s Choice Award
The winner of this award is selected through an online ballot. All the 2020 Inc.credible Awards finalists will be eligible.
Finalists will be announced on April 1st, 2020. The awards will be presented LIVE at the Inc.credible Awards

Do I have to be a member of GLI to apply?
Good News! You don’t have to be a member to apply!
Can I find out who nominated my company?
Nominations are submitted online and unfortunately, we keep that information private. But someone thinks you’re pretty Inc.credible so you should definitely apply!
Can I nominate my own company?
No need! You can just apply by filling out the online application.
What are the requirements to apply for an Inc.credible Award?
Here are the requirements:
- 200 Employees or less
- Locally owned and privately held in Greater Louisville region
- Operating prior to January 1, 2017
- Haven’t won an Inc.credible Award in the past 3 years
Can I apply for more than one award?
Absolutely! We actually encourage it! All completed applications are automatically entered into the Small Business of the Year Award categories (except for Non-profits). There will be an option to apply for an additional award on the online application.
How are applications scored?
Applications are scored by a select group of business and non-profit professionals in the Greater Louisville region. All applications are anonymous. This means we take all identifying information out of your application before the judges read them.

What do I do when I get there?
Upon arrival, pick up your nametag at the registration table and then head into the event area where there will be a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres. This is a great time to network with other attendees!
Will there be food?
Yes! There will be hors d’oeuvres as well as cash bars throughout the networking area.
What should I wear?
This is a business casual event.
