DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION TRAINING FROM GLI

Every institution and organization will, at some point, either realize the benefits of diversity, equity, and inclusion programs, or be forced to create such programs to survive as job applicants become more diverse over time. Job postings for diversity and inclusion roles on Glassdoor are up 55% since June 2020. In early 2021, Bloomberg reported that job postings for chief diversity officers were up 75%. CNBC reports that the United Kingdom saw an increase of 106% in DE&I job postings from 2018 to 2019 on Glassdoor. In Germany, 79%. In France, 53%. The need and desire for more effective DE&I training and programming is an increasingly global trend and a growing imperative for organizational sustainability.

Now more than ever, it is critical for employers to create an inclusive culture where employees feel comfortable. GLI is excited to offer Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) training to help businesses amplify their inclusion efforts.

In addition to educating your staff, improving your reputation, and growing your company’s talent pool, DE&I training is important to your organization for a number of reasons:

  • It’s the right thing to do. Implementing D&I training in your organization shows that your company is willing to take the first steps towards progress. In fact, according to Fundera, 57% of employees want to see their company increase diversity.
  • Diversity drives employee productivity and performance. Eci calculates that employee performance can be boosted by 12%.
  • It fosters creativity and innovation. According to the Harvard Business Review, organizations with diverse leadership and DE&I programs innovate faster.
  • Having a diverse staff reduces employee turnover. Deloitte points out that 80% of employees want to work in inclusive companies and that inclusive environments are an important factor when selecting an employer. Moreover, 39% of respondents said they would leave their current organization for a more inclusive one, and 23% had already made that decision.
  • Diversity increases profits and grow’s a company’s market share. Companies with greater diversity are 25% more likely to experience above-average profitability compared to their non-diverse counterparts, according to McKinsey. In fact, companies with ethnic diversity are 33% more likely to outperform their peers, and companies with gender diversity are 21% more likely to outperform their peers.
  • Diverse Leadership is important, too. The average earnings growth of portfolio with two or more diverse board members has been nearly 12 percent per year greater than the average of companies that lack diversity, according to Carlyle.

ABOUT THE TRAINING SESSIONS

The following training sessions are now available.

  • Diversity 101

In this session participants will get to know the terms DE&I now B! How does it all tie together? Understanding why DE&I is so important and how it affects an organization will be covered, as well as how to better understand cultural differences, and the role the participants can play with in their own organizations to champion this work.

  • Cultural Competency

This session will focus on what cultural competency is and give you the ability to understand, communicate with, and effectively interact with people across cultures while being aware of one’s own world view. You’ll also work to develop positive attitudes towards cultural differences.

  • Understanding Unconscious/Implicit Bias

This session will focus on unconscious/implicit Bias. Participants will learn that unconscious/implicit bias is unconscious favoritism or prejudice against people of a particular ethnicity, gender, or social group that influences one’s actions or perceptions, and how to look out for these biases.

  • Becoming an Antiracist

Oh, no, I’m not a racist! During this engaging session, we will define and explore critical terms to develop a common understanding. Participants will also learn how various concepts show up in and around us daily and will explore strategies designed to breakdown racism in the workplace and beyond.

  • Inclusive Leadership (for Top-Level Leaders)

Participants will explore the six traits of an inclusive leader and examine inclusive leaders’ behaviors – both ones to model and ones not to model. You’ll also perform action planning to employ leadership qualities with inclusivity being the driver for change.

ABOUT THE TRAINER

Dana Johnson is the Senior Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Greater Louisville Inc.  Her career has largely been in the fields of Community and Public Relations, as people are her passion. She deems herself as the ultimate connector with a passion of connecting all people with people who can help one advance-whether it’s the person in the corner office or the person under the bridge. Dana believes that they should meet and learn from each other. Dana has a passion for the underdog! Her work in dear to her as she believes that all voices should matter. Dana holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Spalding University in Louisville, KY. She has had extensive training from some of the top consultants in the field of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and is currently enrolled at eCornell University working on her first certification in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. She says her lived experiences have been her greatest teacher!

 

 

 

 

PRICING

Each training session is $2,500 for GLI investors, and $3,500 for non-GLI investors for classes up to 50 participants. For businesses wishing to train groups over 50, there is a $500 price increase per class.
