Meet the Councilmembers: Jennifer Chappell
GLI engages in advocacy at all levels of government, but works especially closely with local government to ensure a business-friendly environment. Over the next few months, we will highlight members of Louisville Metro Council to help our investors learn a bit more about their background and priorities. GLI is a non-partisan agency, and these posts are for educational purposes only.
JENNIFER CHAPPELL
Councilwoman Jennifer Chappell is a member of Louisville Metro Council and represents District 15.
District (number and neighborhoods you represent)
- Neighborhoods in D15
Day job /professional experience:
- Account manager/Strategist for ProMedia Group (digital marketing and advertising agency)
Years of service on Louisville Metro Council:
- 1 year, 4 months
What is the most important issue facing Louisville?
- Public safety and infrastructure
What is your top local priority in 2024?
- Making impactful infrastructure improvements as it relates to our roadways, public transit, parks, etc.
- Curbing our animal crisis and supporting a pathway to no-kill status at our city shelter
- Supporting and engaging with our youth and creating more supportive environments for families
What role can the business community play in helping Louisville grow?
- I would like to see more companies giving back to their community, whether providing a group of volunteers for a project, donating to a non-profit partner, or simply maintaining their property. Businesses in Louisville are severely lacking when it comes to investing in social capital.
