Louisville, Ky. (March 1, 2021) – In their yearly rankings, Site Selection Magazine ranked Louisville among the top Metropolitan Areas in both East North Central and South Central Regions. The rankings moved Louisville up two slots from last year, ranking seventh in the East North Central Region and sixth in the South Central Region.

Rankings are based on the number of new economic development projects brought to the Metropolitan area in that calendar year. Last year, Louisville located 41 located projects, adding 2,200 new jobs and $474 million in new investment to the city.

Greater Louisville Inc. (GLI) and Louisville Forward work closely through the Greater Louisville Regional Partnership along with other county partners, to interact with site selectors, consultants, and brokers to attract new business to the region. This year the regional partnership, which is comprised of representatives from the 15 counties that make up the bi-state region, is celebrating five years of collaborating to grow the economy in Louisville and the surrounding area.

Site Selection Magazine is an internationally recognized publication followed by leaders in the economic development field. The recognition will be featured in the March issue and the announcement was officially made at the Inaugural Governor’s Cup Webinar Series which is attended by top economic development professionals, site selection consultants and corporate advisors from around the country. This award gives Louisville national exposure to continue bolstering economic growth and development.
