Louisville, Ky. (January 22, 2025) – Greater Louisville Inc. will take regional business and community leaders to Milwaukee for its 25th annual Greater Louisville Idea Development Expedition (GLIDE) presented by Norton Healthcare. GLIDE will explore how Milwaukee has grown its population and economy through strategic initiatives and collaboration.

GLIDE is an annual trip that takes GLI investors to a thriving region where Greater Louisville can glean new ideas and best practices. GLIDE Milwaukee will dive into how Milwaukee has positioned itself as a place for economic opportunity, talent development and growth, and visitor experience, while solving long-term community issues. This will be the second GLIDE to Milwaukee, the first visit was in 2002 and focused on downtown development and parking, and community branding.

“I am excited for GLIDE to revisit Milwaukee and see their recent successes in technology, manufacturing, and tourism,” said Sarah Davasher-Wisdom, GLI’s President and CEO. “There is a lot we can learn from Milwaukee and GLIDE is always a unique opportunity to bring back new ideas to keep Greater Louisville moving forward.”

In 2024, GLI took 140 business, education, and elected leaders to San Antonio, Texas. Major takeaways included increasing connections between the business community and military talent and advocating for reforms to the land development code. Previous GLIDE destinations include Boston, Jacksonville, Indianapolis, San Francisco, Nashville, and Austin. Takeaways from those trips are available here.
