Greater Louisville Inc. Releases 2025 State Legislative Priorities

Louisville, Ky. (December 13, 2024) – Greater Louisville Inc. unveiled its top legislative priorities for the 2025 Legislative Session at the final event of its 2024 Capitol Connection event series, presented by Norton Healthcare. GLI’s State Legislative Agenda is updated annually through intensive feedback from hundreds of GLI investors to represent the positions of the Greater Louisville business community.

The 2025 State Legislative Agenda outlines both continued support for long-term priorities, like local tax reform, and new initiatives, like exploring policies and funding to increase talent attraction. Additional priorities in the State Legislative Agenda include support for innovative incentives to help Kentucky compete for jobs, investment in public safety programs and resources, simplification of

the permit processes for renewable energy projects, and advancement of health equity in the region.

“2024 has been a tremendous year for our regional economy,” said Sarah Davasher-Wisdom, president and CEO of GLI. “Our 2025 Legislative Agenda represents our legislative roadmap for continued economic growth. By prioritizing innovation, investment, and collaboration, we are committed to ensuring sustainable progress for years to come.”

The Capitol Connection event also recognized 25 GLI Most Valuable Policymakers (MVPs), who voted in line with GLI priorities 100% of the time in 2024. The event concluded with a panel discussion between Kentucky Speaker of the House David Osborne and Representative Jason Nemes, which was moderated by Julie Babbage, Managing Partner at Babbage Cofounder. The discussion focused on the House’s top priorities for the 2025 General Assembly.

“GLI’s State Legislative Agenda represents the power of our investors, community partners, and stakeholders working together to tackle the most pressing challenges facing our region,” Les Fugate, chair of GLI’s Public Policy Council and Vice President, Director, Public Affairs, U.S. State and Local, Canada, and Latin America at Brown-Forman. “With the continued support of our business community and the expertise of GLI’s dedicated team, I am confident we will drive meaningful progress in the 2025 General Assembly Session.”
