The largest convening of business leaders in the region is set for February 1, 2023
Louisville, Ky. (September 29, 2022) – Greater Louisville Inc. announced that Nando Cesarone, UPS Executive Vice President and President U.S., will be the keynote speaker at its Annual Meeting presented by Baird on February 1, 2023, at the Kentucky International Convention Center.
In his current role, Cesarone oversees the U.S. small package, transportation and airline business units, as well as U.S. sales and the company’s automotive and global buildings and systems engineering groups. He started his career with UPS in 1990 loading trucks and rose from delivery driver to serve as President of UPS Europe, President of the Asia Pacific region and most recently, President of U.S. Operations.
“Not only is UPS a major economic driver and top employer in our region, but they are also a perfect
example of a company that prioritizes teamwork and innovation,” said Sarah Davasher-Wisdom, president and CEO of GLI. “I am thrilled Nando will be traveling to Louisville to share his wealth of experience on growing a business, navigating challenges, and working collaboratively to achieve impressive results.”
Louisville is also home to UPS Worldport, the company’s global air hub, a facility that employs thousands of Louisvillians, and remains a key point of convergence in UPS’s supply chain. In addition, UPS Healthcare selected Louisville as a central location to store and safely distribute the initial COVID-19 vaccines across the nation and has since set up several hubs to distribute over 1 billion COVID-19 tests.
“Louisville is a linchpin in UPS’s global network, and the 25,000 UPSers in the city are critical to delivering what matters to our customers all over the world. I’m excited to be able to share insights with business leaders of a city that is so significant to us,” Cesarone said.
GLI’s Annual Meeting is the regional business community’s largest event and will host more than 1,200 attendees. This year’s event will be completely in-person and feature signature components like the presentation of the Silver Fleur-de-Lis awards and networking with top business leaders. The theme of the 2023 Annual Meeting is “Together for a Greater Louisville” and will focus on unity and the importance of maintaining and expanding collaboration between businesses and the public sector.
